Bank AlJazira reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported net profit was SAR 178 million compared to SAR 736 million a year ago. Net income has decreased mainly due to decrease in operating income by 51%. This was due to the fact that in comparative period income was higher as result of sale of land owned by the bank which resulted in gain amounting to SAR 573 million. For the six months, the company reported net profit was SAR 559 million compared to SAR 963 million a year ago. Earnings per share were SAR 1.4 compared to SAR 2.41 a year ago. Net income has decreased mainly due to decrease in operating income by 25%. This was mainly due to the fact that in comparative period income was higher as result of sale of land owned by the bank which resulted in gain amounting to SAR 573 million as against only gain of SAR 209 million booked on sale of land in current period.
