Nature of the Event: An Application Was Lodged for the Approval of a Class Action
With Respect to Cash Deposits in Automated Machines

Bank Hapoalim B. M. ("the Bank") has the honour to report that on 15.02.2021 there were received a statement of claim and an application for the approval of a class action that were filed against the Bank and three other banks in the Tel Aviv District Court ("the Application"). It is alleged in the Application, inter alia, that due to a failure and/or malfunction in automated bank machines stationed at the branches, the Bank's customers were required to carry out a number of deposit operations in order to deposit the full amount of cash in their possession; and that the Bank charged a fee for each deposit operation, without making any disclosure with respect thereto and against the law. The collective damage was estimated to amount to NIS 385 million of which the share apportioned to the Bank is NIS 245 million.
