Nature of the Event: Launch of Digital Wallet for Bit Users

Bank Hapoalim B. M. ("the Bank") has the honour to report that these days the Bank is launching a digital wallet for smartphones based on an android operating system which will be administered on a bit application as an additional service ("a bit wallet").

A bit wallet will serve as a technological platform for bit users, based on a payment technology based on Contactless EMV proximity, for the purpose of executing transactions with debit cards at business houses by tapping their smartphone against the point of sale (the payment terminal). A bit wallet is an "open" wallet, and as such, bit users will be able to make use of it by means of debit cards of the Bank as well as by means of cards issued to them by other issuers who have consented thereto. In addition, bit users will also be able to use their bit wallets by means of a dedicated, ex-banking club card, by the name of "Bitcard", to be issued by Israel Credit Cards Ltd. (Cal) to bit users. By means of the Bitcard, it will also be possible for bit users to use their bit wallet notwithstanding that the issuers of the debit cards by means of which the bit users subscribed to bit did not give their consent to the use of their bit wallet. The launch and the application of the bit wallet will be put into effect in accordance with the outline prescribed by the Bank of Israel for such projects.
