Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has announced that the Omani youth supported by the bank in the Chartered Certified Accountant course by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have been achieving excellent results. The bank has partnered with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to provide scholarships for a number of Bachelor's degree holders to complete this internationally-recognised accountancy course, which prepares entry and mid-level professionals to work in any aspect of finance or management.

The participants supported by the bank have been achieving excellent results with many of them ranking among the highest globally and the GCC region. The group performance in ACCA subjects surpassed global benchmarks validating the bank's strategy of supporting talented Omani youth. Completing the programme successfully will help Omani youth advance in their professional careers in finance, accountancy and management. The bank's support for Omani youth in completing this course is part of its efforts to enhance the skills and qualifications of national human capital.

The bank was also successfully re-accredited by the UK-based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as an ACCA Approved Employer earlier in 2021. Bank Muscat has been recognised by ACCA from 2007 onwards and has supported many employees in gaining ACCA certification and excel in their roles at the bank. This accreditation is given to formally recognised partners of ACCA, and rewards organisations which ensure that the highest standards are met in providing a working environment that supports ACCA members and trainees.

Speaking about the achievements by the bank in developing Oman talent, Said Salim Al Aufi, Group Deputy General Manager - Human Resources, Bank Muscat, said: "Bank Muscat is delighted with the excellent results achieved by the students. The bank continues to focus on nurturing and supporting Omani talent so as to meet the ambitious growth plans of the bank and also help Omani youth develop their skills and qualifications. The bank earmarks substantial funding every year for the training and development of employees across all job functions and roles. This approach is part of a strategy put in place by the bank's Executive Management to enhance the role of Omani cadre across all the different lines of business and activities of the bank."

Bank Muscat is always keen to give top priority to the development of its human resources and makes continuous investments in this regard. Opportunities are available for Bank Muscat staff to pursue part-time diploma/Bachelors programmes at local colleges and universities as well as post graduate programmes at leading international business schools. With over 3,800 employees and an overall Omanisation ratio of about 95%, it is a matter of great pride for Bank Muscat that most of its senior and middle management have been promoted from within the bank's employees.
