In line with its role in strengthening national development and digitalisation of the economy, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider is strongly supporting and participating in the currently ongoing COMEX 2021 Expo, which will run till 8 June 2021. COMEX is the largest Technology, Communications, Innovation and Digital Transformation show in the Sultanate of Oman and offers exhibitors and visitors a comprehensive and highly specialised platform for industry leading discussions, knowledge-sharing and B2B meetings. In 2021, COMEX is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a Virtual Expo, which showcases a number of digital innovations across Fintech and Banking, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Robotics, Drones, Smart Homes and Cyber Security.

There will be a series of events taking place during the exhibition. Amjad Al Lawati, Assistant General Manager - Cards and eBanking, Bank Muscat, made a presentation during the Expo on "Reimagining Banking" and the rapid technological changes happening in the banking and financial services sector.

Bank Muscat's continuously upgraded Internet and mobile banking services, which are in line with the government's e-payment goals and the Oman 2040 vision, give its customers a fast, comfortable and secure banking experience. Today, many retail banking customers are using features like real-time bill payments for utilities in Oman, fund transfers within the bank and in Oman, fund transfers across the world via the SWIFT network; speed transfers to a number of countries including India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh; Zakat calculator and charity payments. Bill payment facility is available for a variety of utility services such as electricity, water, telecom, mobile top ups, instant credit card bill payments, school payments etc. Internet banking and the mBanking app also allow customers to disable or enable their debit card for international usage adding an extra layer of security for the benefit of customers.

A large number of the bank's corporate customers are also using digital banking options like bulk payments to make salary and vendor payments through Corporate Internet Banking or the state-of-the-art B2B Connect Solution without the need to visit a branch. Bank Muscat also offers other tailor-made digital solutions such as Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) and Direct Debit for the benefit of its corporate customers. These digital options offer the latest technologies with world class security features and provides intelligent information to institutions and corporates for real time decision-making.
