The annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic economy stood at 6.2% in October 2022, compared with 7.2% in the previous month.

The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 5.4% in October 2022, compared with 6.1% in the previous month.

Deposits placed by the private sector decreased by EUR550 million in October 2022, compared with an increase of EUR2,255 million in the previous month.

I.	Credit to the domestic economy

?he monthly net flow of total credit was negative by EUR639 million in October 2022, compared with a positive net flow of EUR1,069 million in the previous month.

?.1 Credit to the general government

In October 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to the general government was positive by EUR259 million, compared with a positive net flow of EUR317 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 7.6% from 9.1% in the previous month.

?.2 Credit to the private sector

In October 2022, the annual growth rate of credit to the private sector decreased to 5.3% from 6.0% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of credit was negative by EUR898 million, compared with a positive net flow of EUR752 million in the previous month.

?.2.1 Credit to corporations

In October 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was negative by EUR665 million, compared with a positive net flow of EUR723 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 11.3% from 12.5% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations (NFCs) decreased to 10.8% from 12.3% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was negative by EUR606 million, compared with a positive net flow of EUR745 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries increased to 16.5% from 14.9% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was negative by EUR60 million, compared with a negative net flow of EUR22 million in the previous month.

?.2.2 Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships

In October 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was negative by EUR80 million, compared with a positive net flow of EUR57 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained almost unchanged at 0.7% from 0.8% in the previous month.

?.2.3 Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions

In October 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was negative by EUR153 million, compared with a negative net flow of EUR27 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained almost unchanged at -2.3% compared to -2.2% in the previous month.

II.	Deposits by the domestic economy with the domestic credit institutions

In October 2022, the monthly net flow of total deposits was negative by EUR872 million, compared with a positive net flow of EUR1,807 million in September 2022.

??.1 Deposits placed by the general government

In October 2022, deposits placed by the general government decreased by EUR322 million, compared with a decrease of EUR448 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to -4.9%, compared with 3.3% in the previous month.

??.2 Deposits placed by the private sector

In October 2022, deposits placed by the private sector decreased by EUR550 million, compared with an increase of EUR2,255 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 5.9% from 6.2% in the previous month.

??.2.1 Corporate deposits

In October 2022, corporate deposits decreased by EUR671 million, compared with an increase of EUR1,502 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 11.1% from 11.5% in the previous month. In particular, deposits from NFCs decreased by EUR678 million, against an increase of EUR1,879 million in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries increased by EUR6 million, compared with a decrease of EUR377 million in the previous month.

??.2.2 Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions

In October 2022, deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions increased by EUR121 million, compared with an increase of EUR753 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 4.3% from 4.6% in the previous month.
