BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON CORPORATION (THE) BNY Mellon's Issuer Services, which includes Corporate Trust and Depositary Receipts' businesses, today announced that Carlos Lima has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer, effective today. Recently, Lima was President of Verifone Latin America and the Caribbean, where he led major initiatives to optimize business performance, grow revenue, build scale, and manage risk.
Lima has more than 30 years of leadership experience in financial services, banking and retail. Prior to joining Verifone, Carlos has held numerous leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer at Vantiv and Barclays Bank, Lisbon, Portugal, respectively; Chief Information Officer and Co-Chief Operating Officer at Barclaycard; and Global Technology Head for Commercial Cards & Foreign Trade at Citigroup, among others.

As COO, Lima will work with our senior management team, across business functions and the enterprise, to further progress our business strategy while also focusing on process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Lima succeeds Al Briand who has announced plans to retire, following a financial services career that spans more than 40 years.
