BCGE - Urs Ziegler to head the Asset Management business unit

Geneva, 8 December 2020 - The Executive Board has decided to appoint Urs Ziegler as Head of the Asset Management business unit.

A leading figure in institutional asset management

Urs Ziegler holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Lausanne and is a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA®). He began his career with Swiss Bank Corporation. After the merger with UBS, he became Head of Product Management in the Corporate and Institutional Clients department. In 1998 he joined Julius Bär Asset Management as Sales and Relationship Manager. He then joined Banque Cantonale Vaudoise in 2006 to head the Business Development of the Asset Management division.

An innovative and distinctive Business Unit

The Asset Management business unit comprises the Investment Office, Institutional Portfolio Management and Private Portfolio Management departments. It is responsible for generating the bank's economic forecasts and scenarios, investment strategies and the centralised management of all mandates and investment products. "Urs Ziegler's mission is to maintain the Group's management quality and to develop innovative and high-performance investment solutions for clients with total assets of CHF 30.9 million (as at 30.06.2020). His extensive experience, which is recognised in professional circles, will enable him to galvanise the existing resources and skills and take the Group's growth to a new level," emphasised Constantino Cancela, member of the BCGE Executive Board and Head of the Asset Management Division.
