Recently, the online regenerative baking energy-saving renovation project of no.5 continuous casting tundish in no.2 steelmaking factory of Baosteel Co., Ltd passed acceptance tests, marking that the first online regenerative baking energy-saving renovation project of Baosteel tundish was successfully put into production, and it is expected to save 0.71 million cubic meters coke oven gas and reduce more than 1000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

As energy environmental protection management systems of Baosteel Co., Ltd constantly improved and the space of reducing energy consumption relying on management improvement was smaller, technical revamping will become the main measure. During the process of sorting out energy-saving renovation project that was implemented previously, energy environmental protection department found that regenerative baking technology of tundish had a remarkable benefit in energy conservation and emission reduction, had stable and mature technology, and had the basis of promoting and transplanting similar equipments, which was determined to apply it to online baking equipments of steelmaking tundish.

The later maintenance of regenerative energy saving technology was difficult, which made many domestic steelmaking factories shrink back at the sight of difficulties. Therefore, energy environmental protection department and energy-saving company cooperated in accordance with the mode of " energy management contract " in order to solve the difficulties of technical maintenance without the worries behind. Since the project was put into operation for three months, the system was safe, stable and reliable, and therefore, the life of tundish baking equipments was extended; Meanwhile, it reduced the time of equipment replacement and maintenance, reduced labour intensity and reduced hundreds of thousands of yuan equipment maintenance fees annually.
