Barco : Film Fest Gent #CinemaReady!

Film Fest Gent 2020, one of Europe's most renowned film festivals, is scheduled from October 13th to 24th. Barco and Cinionic are proud sponsors of the annual film festival with our laser projection technology. Especially during this an unfortunate year, we want to show our continuous support to our established partners in the film and event industry.

Every year in October, Film Festival Gent presents some 100 feature films and 50 shorts from all over the world in various sections to an audience of over 100,000 spectators. But this 2020 edition is, for obvious reasons, somewhat different from other years. To ensure the health and security of everyone involved, this year's festival will be a corona-proof hybrid edition with physical film screenings supplemented by an online platform offering a digital selection of festival films and virtual Q&A's with movie makers.

'We had to look into every scenario concerning our program, its presentation and the many collaborations with our partners. In the process, we became more and more convinced of the power of film. There just had to be an edition this year', writes Wim De Witte, Program Director Film Fest Gent 2020, in the opening statement of the official program guide.
