BASF says it has become the leading producer of renewable ammonia in Central Europe following the expansion of its ammonia value chain.
BASF now offers two new grades of renewable ammonia - renewable ammonia and 24.5% renewable ammonia solution - at its integrated site (Verbund) in Ludwigshafen.
The renewable ammonia grades are available in bulk, in the usual way, BASF says.
Our main goal is to achieve carbon neutrality for our products. With our renewable ammonia, we can significantly reduce the carbon footprint (PCF) compared to our other low-CO₂ ammonia grades, said Dr. Jens Aßmann, Vice President of the Ammonia Value Chain and Amin Resins Operations at BASF.
By 2025, BASF's Monomers division plans to offer a circular or low-carbon solution for every major product line. These sustainable offerings are an essential part of BASF's path to climate neutrality and net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050.
