BASF has announced that it has signed an agreement giving it the right to acquire the 49% stake held by DOMO Chemicals in the Alsachimie joint venture, in which it already holds a 51% stake.
The transaction, which is subject to consultation with the relevant social partners, is expected to be completed by mid-2025.
BASF says that this takeover would strengthen its strategic presence at the Chalampé site in France, which is dedicated to polyamide 6.6 precursors.
By acquiring the shares of our partner DOMO Chemicals, we are strengthening our leading position and our long-term commitment, it said.
DOMO Chemicals sees this as an opportunity to refocus its activities on customized polyamide solutions, according to its CEO Yves Bonte.
