BASF gives a clear signal in favor of the biotransformation of its (meth)acrylates portfolio and will switch production to bio-based ethyl acrylate (EA) from the fourth quarter of 2024.

With a traceable carbon-14 content of 40% and a low product carbon footprint (PCF), BASF's bio-based EA helps customers worldwide meet their sustainability goals.

The product offers a PCF reduction of around 30% compared to fossil-based EA. In addition to conventional bio-based EA, BASF also offers bio-based ethyl acrylate BMB ISCC Plus.
