MAINZ (dpa-AFX) - On the second day of his visit to Rhineland-Palatinate, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will meet with top representatives of the chemical industry at the Mainz State Chancellery on Tuesday (8 a.m.). At the invitation of Minister President Malu Dreyer (SPD), the topics to be discussed will include innovations and the restructuring of industry in the face of digitalization, climate change and demographic changes in society. Among those taking part in the talks will be BASF executive Melanie Maas-Brunner and Sabine Nikolaus, head of Germany at pharmaceutical group Boehringer Ingelheim, as well as representatives of industry associations and trade unions.
