SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Beam Global (BEEM) on Thursday reported a loss of $1.7 million in its third quarter.

The San Diego-based company said it had a loss of 19 cents per share.

The company posted revenue of $2 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.3 million.

Beam Global shares have nearly tripled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $33.96, a rise of 15% in the last 12 months.
