Bechtle AG is set to purchase dataformers GmbH in Linz, the 100th acquisition in the company's history.

Headquartered in Linz, dataformers has branches in Vienna and Eisenstadt. The custom software and IoT solutions specialist was founded in 2009 and today has 55 employees, including 35 software developers. In 2019, its revenues amounted to 5.5 million euros. dataformers creates individual digital ecosystems for its customers, in particular manufacturing businesses located in Upper Austria and Salzburg. The current executive team of Thomas Gratz and Wilfried Mausz will continue at the helm of the company. dataformers will retain its established name and join the Bechtle Group as an subsidiary of Bechtle Austria. The acquisition remains subject to the approval by the relevant competition authorities.

Bechtle continues to expand its service business in Austria, adding to its activities another successful software specialist. Bechtle's Austria system house has six locations in the country. With dataformers' site in Linz, it is now extending its footprint in a key industry location in Upper Austria, with plans in place to interlock future system house activities with dataformers, too. By the same token, dataformers-as the latest member of the Bechtle Group-will be able to leverage existing customer relationships of all Bechtle locations in Austria.

As a digital solutions partner, dataformers realises custom software projects with a team of sought-after experts in agile and lean project management, requirements engineering, UI and UX design, as well as software architecture and coding. dataformers has many years of experience in the areas of IoT, cloud computing, blockchain data engineering, and data science with machine learning, e.g. for predictive maintenance scenarios.

'dataformers is an extremely modern addition to our strong infrastructure business. Our customers will be able to benefit from new expertise that is now accessible to both sides. I am very pleased to be welcoming 55 committed and excellent specialists under the roof of Bechtle. They will proof a great asset as part of our very successful team,' says Robert Absenger, managing director of the Bechtle Austria system house.

As a software specialist, dataformers has been a staple in the market for eleven years and has excellent contact points in the business, research and education landscapes, as well as with up-and-coming developers. It counts among its customers a large variety of companies in construction-intensive industries such as mechanical engineering, but also publishing houses, financial service providers, food producers and start-ups.

'I am very much looking forward to developing dataformers together with Bechtle, and to contributing our expertise as a member of a strong community. Together, we form a future-oriented ecosystem that will benefit both our customers and our employees,' says Thomas Gratz, founder and managing director of dataformers.

'With the addition of dataformers, we're stepping to the fore as a provider of IoT-related software solutions and custom digital products, which is a topical issue for many of our customers and crucial to their success. We're now able to unlock significant synergies as we build and operate holistic, forward-facing software solutions. It truly is a worthy 100th acquisition,' says Michael Guschlbauer, COO IT System House & Managed Services at Bechtle AG.
