Becle, S.A.B. de C.V. announced consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2018. For the quarter, the company reported net sales were MXN 6,407 million against MXN 5,765 million a year ago. Operating profit was MXN 863 million against MXN 1,143 million a year ago. Profit before tax was MXN 538 million against MXN 1,257 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 381 million against MXN 856 million a year ago. Net income to equity holders of the company was MXN 381 million against MXN 857 million a year ago. EBITDA was MXN 988 million against MXN 1,243 million a year ago. Earnings per share were MXN 0.11 against MXN 0.24 a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported net cash used in operating activities was MXN 1,018 million against net cash provided by operating activities of MXN 1,802 million a year ago. Investment in property, plant and equipment, net was MXN 346 million against MXN 361 million a year ago. Investment in intangible assets, net was MXN 2,953 million. Income before income taxes was MXN 2,744 million against MXN 3,360 million a year ago.
Becle SAB de CV is a Mexico-based company engaged in the beverages industry. The Company focuses on the production, bottling, trade and distribution of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Its offer includes various types of tequila distributed under own Jose Cuervo brand name, non-alcoholic drinks, ready-to-drink beverages, as well as other distilled alcohols distributed under third-party brand names, including Three Olives, Hangar 1, Stranahan's, Bushmills and Boodles. Its distribution chain comprises operations in the United States, Mexico and other countries. In addition, the Company is involved in the farming and processing of blue agave.
