Becle, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV:CUERVO *) agreed to acquire an additional 29% stake in Eire Born Spirits LLC on February 28. 2020. After the transaction, Becle, S.A.B. will own 49% stake in Eire Born Spirits. The closing of the transaction is subject to certain regulatory and other conditions, and is expected to occur during the second quarter of 2020.
Becle, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV:CUERVO *) completed the acquisition of 29% stake in Eire Born Spirits LLC on April 23, 2020. Becle, borrowed $150 million in funding under a new term loan credit facility. The net proceeds of the Facility, plus cash on hand, were used to finance the acquisition of additional equity interests of Eire Born.
Becle SAB de CV is a Mexico-based company engaged in the beverages industry. The Company focuses on the production, bottling, trade and distribution of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Its offer includes various types of tequila distributed under own Jose Cuervo brand name, non-alcoholic drinks, ready-to-drink beverages, as well as other distilled alcohols distributed under third-party brand names, including Three Olives, Hangar 1, Stranahan's, Bushmills and Boodles. Its distribution chain comprises operations in the United States, Mexico and other countries. In addition, the Company is involved in the farming and processing of blue agave.
