Begbies Traynor : Another four appointments at Begbies Traynor Group in Newcastle

Leading professional services firm Begbies Traynor Group is seeing continued growth at its Newcastle upon Tyne office with another four recruits joining the team as it strengthens its presence across the North East.

With 17 years' experience providing banking and finance support, Andrew Grundy has been appointed as director in BTG Advisory, a division of Begbies Traynor Group which provides tailored funding solutions and receivables management services. Andrew has held a number of positions with leading high street banks including Yorkshire Bank, Santander and HSBC. He joins from accountancy firm where he spent the last three years based at its Durham office, latterly as banking and finance director.

In his new role with BTG Advisory, Andrew will be responsible for assisting businesses across the North East and Yorkshire to access finance. Using his specialist knowledge of asset based lending, working capital solutions and Government loan schemes, he will advise companies as well as working alongside the wider team BTG Advisory team to provide clients and referral partners with sales ledger, collections and restructuring support. Having spent his entire career in the North East and Yorkshire, Andrew has an in- depth knowledge of the region and extensive contacts.

With 20 years' experience in insolvency, Charlene Carson joins the Begbies Traynor team in Newcastle as insolvency manager having previously spent 13 years with Begbies Traynor Group in Edinburgh. She is joined by Josephine Humphreys as senior administrator who has worked in insolvency for over 20 years, holding positions in a number of leading accountancy firms in the North East.

Finally, John Ellis, who starting working with the firm as an intern in July 2019 and has held a part-time role while he completed his BA in Business Management at Northumbria University has been offered a full time, permanent position as trainee administrator.

The extended team is led by partners Gerald Krasner, Gillian Sayburn, Ian Kings and Andrew Little.

With the challenges facing businesses continuing, combined with further pressures as Government support measures are withdrawn, we are, unfortunately expecting greater demand for our services later in the year.
