Beiersdorf AG said Thursday that it has committed to significantly reducing its carbon-dioxide emissions by 2025 in line with global climate targets.

The German maker of personal-care products said it aims to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 emissions by 30% in absolute terms at its consumer segment and adhesives unit tesa by 2025. It also plans to cut emissions by suppliers and service providers, or scope 3, by 10%.

Moreover, the consumer business segment, which includes brands such as Nivea, has a target to reduce its scope-3 emissions by 30% by 2025 and make its production sites carbon neutral by 2030.

The targets are aligned with independent global climate scientists' findings and have been endorsed by the Science Based Targets initiative, Beiersdorf said.
