NetJets Thursday said it was expanding its global sustainability program to help reduce its environmental footprint.

The private aviation company said it is buying enough sustainable aviation fuel to account for all its flights out of San Francisco, the location of its fuel supply, and from its Columbus, Ohio, home base.

The company, which said it has been carbon neutral in Europe since 2012, will offset its administrative and training flights in the U.S. beginning next year.

NetJets also said its Blue Skies program encourages owners worldwide to purchase the equivalent amount of carbon credits to ensure their flight activity is carbon neutral.

NetJets Inc. is a Berkshire Hathaway company.
