Berkshire Hathaway Inc. reported new positions in Louisiana-Pacific Corp. and Jefferies Financial Group Inc. in its quarterly 13-F filing Monday.

Berkshire decreased its General Motors Co. position in the third quarter and eliminated its STORE Capital Corp. stake.

Previous filings indicated that Berkshire bought about $9 billon of stock and sold about $5.3 billion in the third quarter. Purchases included Occidental Petroleum Corp. and Chevron Corp.

According to the company's 10-Q filing, its top holdings by fair value as of Sept. 30 were Apple Inc., Bank of America Corp., Chevron, Coca-Cola Co. and American Express Co.
