Best Buy is proud to be named to Newsweek's list of America's Most Responsible Companies for the fourth year in a row.
Newsweek compiles this list in partnership with Statista to recognize the 500 most responsible companies in the U.S. across 14 industries. It's based on publicly available environmental, social and governance data and an independent survey of U.S. residents.
Our individual environmental score was also 92.50, making us the top retailer in that category. We earned an overall score of 76.90 out of 100, ranking No. 175.
We continue to work toward helping our communities, employees, and planet. Here are a few examples:
We've reduced our carbon emissions by 62% since 2009 and have a goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2040. To help us get there, we've invested in clean energy, such as solar projects.
We're a founding member of the Breakthroughs 2030: Retail, a Race to Zero initiative that aims to accelerate climate action within the retail industry.
We're committed to an inclusive and diverse work environment by creating parity in retention rates and partnering with organizations such as The Mom Project to expand recruitment of skilled, diverse women.
We've opened more than 50 Best Buy Teen Tech Center® locations, providing teens from disinvested communities with guidance, training, and tech access to help them succeed in their futures.
You can learn more about our efforts in our latest environmental, social and governance report.
