Bharti Airtel Limited announced that it has deployed additional sites in Gandhinagar and Mehsana district to densify its network. The network expansion project in Gandhinagar and Mehsana was undertaken across 425 villages covering 0.76 million population base. Customers in the tehsils of Gandhinagar, Kalol, Dehgam and Mansa under the Gandhinagar district and Mehsana, Kadi, Vijapur, Unjha, Becharaji, Kheralu, Vadnagar tehsil under Mehsana district will directly benefit from this network expansion.

The expansion will enable seamless access to high-speed connectivity that will ensure reliable mobile network for work, study and entertainment in rural parts of Gandhinagar and Mehsana. In this year alone, Airtel has doubled down on its commitment to the state and has invested additional capex to enhance its network connectivity for seamless experience on 4G, 5G, Broadband and Fiber. To expand coverage in rural villages in the state and to bring customers to enjoy the power of high-speed connectivity, the rural expansion project covers fifteen districts of Gujarat including Bharuch, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, BanasKantha, Surat, Ahmedabad, Kheda, Bhavnagar, Botad, Anand, Rajkot, Morbi, Vadodara, Sabarkantha and Patan, impacting over 5 million population across these districts.

Airtel has been running this rural expansion project nationally and will augment network connectivity across 60,000 villages in the country by 2024. Gujarat has been one of the big focus markets for the Company and with this initiative, the Company will augment its network coverage across 7,000 villages covering the entire state.
