BHP : New Thriving Futures career pathway

Thriving Futures is a new program by Child Australia aimed at creating career pathways into the early childhood education and care sector.

Proudly supported by BHP and available to people in Hedland and Newman, Thriving Futures will increase the number of qualified educators in the region and in turn create more high quality early learning opportunities for local children.

Scholarships will also be offered to assist eligible candidates in the Pilbara region to obtain the skills and qualifications required to begin a career in early childhood education and care.

Child Australia's CEO Tina Holtom said her organisation has a long history working in the Pilbara.

'We're really looking forward to working with our local communities to build sustainable programs that will improve developmental outcomes for children,' Tina said.

BHP Communities Manager Chris Cottier said the program will help create a consistent early childhood workforce in the Pilbara.

'This continuity to children and their families will equip our future generations to be effective and engaged learners from a young age - which is vital to the growth and sustainability of the Pilbara for years to come,' Chris said.
