By acquiring LINDSCHULTE, BKW is expanding its existing engineering business in order to target the rapidly-growing infrastructure market across Europe. For example, Germany is planning an infrastructure push worth around 300 billion Euros in the next few years, and Switzerland also requires a great deal of investment to renew, expand and maintain its energy, water and transport infrastructure. BKW is therefore taking an important step in the strategic development of an engineering network that is geared towards the European market and that can deliver top-quality engineering services.

Since it was founded, BKW has been active in the field of engineering and has extensive experience in realising major projects, building infrastructure and power plants and in the areas of flood control and river management. The acquisition of LINDSCHULTE opens up new opportunities for BKW to deploy its expertise internationally and to significantly complement and expand its existing competencies in energy and infrastructure services. The LINDSCHULTE Group has carved out a significant market position in its home market of Germany through numerous successfully implemented projects, and it employees over 250 engineers and designers at eight locations. In the past few years, LINDSCHULTE has generated annual turnover in the low double-digit millions. The company will continue to be managed by the Group's four existing managing partners. It will continue to operate under its existing name and there will be no changes for employees.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the German antitrust authority.
