WATERLOO, Ontario (AP) _ BlackBerry Ltd. (BB) on Thursday reported a loss of $181 million in its fiscal first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Waterloo, Ontario-based company said it had a loss of 35 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and amortization costs, were 5 cents per share.

The cybersecurity software and services company posted revenue of $168 million in the period.

BlackBerry shares have decreased 43% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $5.37, a decrease of 59% in the last 12 months.
