SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Bloom Energy Corp. (BE) on Thursday reported a loss of $52.4 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 30 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 20 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 10 cents per share.

The developer of fuel cell systems posted revenue of $207.2 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $237.4 million.

Bloom Energy shares have increased 5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $30.16, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
