BMW has teamed with E Ink, the creator of digital paper technology, in its i Vision DEE concept car, which was unveiled at CES 2023 and features E Ink Prism 3 technology, according to a press release.

The system allows product designers to choose from an array of patterns and eight different colors on dynamically changing product surfaces, known as dynamic surfaces technology. The system is designed to be eco-friendly, use low-energy consumption, have high personalizing options and be thin and durable using various materials and surfaces.

"E Ink Prism creates unique experiences like never before," Paul Apen, CEO of U.S. operations at E Ink, said in the release. "Product developers and designers now have the ability to integrate E Ink technology to create dynamic surfaces. E Ink Prism offers the ability to design in a low power, sustainable display solution that is customizable and offers endless design opportunities through a combination of changing colors, patterns and user-defined programs. E Ink works to enable solutions that allow our customers to design smarter devices for a sustainable future."
