BMW Group announces a further investment in its Landshut plant. The German component manufacturing site is thus continuing its transformation towards electric mobility.

BMW Group's Landshut plant is increasing its production capacity by expanding the facilities for manufacturing the central housing of the electric drive unit that will equip Neue Klasse models.

BMW Group is investing a further 200 million euros, bringing total investment at the German plant since 2020 to around 1 billion euros.

Of this amount, around 500 million euros has been used to expand the plant to cover electric mobility.

Annual production capacity for fifth- and sixth-generation aluminum housings is increasing by around 30%.

'We are constantly developing our site's expertise, both in the production of our cutting-edge components and in the development of new technologies,' explains Thomas Thym, BMW Group Plant Landshut's Managing Director. "This set of skills gives us the flexibility we'll need in the future."
