Boeing was awarded a $616 million contract for its Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System, or EPAWSS, an electronic warfare system that will enable decades-old Air Force F-15 fighter jets to remain survivable against sophisticated threats.
The Defense Department said Monday it awarded the jet maker a fixed-price incentive, cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost-reimbursable contract, providing for procurement of Group A and Group B kits, system engineering program management and interim contractor support lay-in material.
Work will be performed in Nashua, N.H., and St. Louis and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2030.
The Pentagon called the contract a sole source acquisition.
The EPAWSS provides the F-15 with fully-integrated radar warning, geolocation, situational awareness and self-protection solutions, all of which ultimately enable deeper penetration into battlespaces protected by advanced integrated air defense systems.
