FOR 17 YEARS, THE FRANCIS BOUYGUES FOUNDATION HAS BEEN WORKING TO PROMOTE UPWARD SOCIAL MOBILITY.

On 26 October 2020, the Francis Bouygues Foundation held its 17th welcome ceremony for its high-achievergrant-holders. Martin Bouygues, accompanied by the Foundation's Chairman, Jean-François Guillemin, and various mentors, welcomed the new intake during an online conference. Selected from among more than 1,000 applicants, the 100 deserving school leavers will benefit from high-achiever grants to pursue their higher education studies. Each grant-holder has a specific career goal which the Foundation will help them to attain by providing support throughout their course.

In addition to receiving financial support, each grant-holder is supported by a volunteer mentor from the world of business. This might be a current or retired Bouygues employee, or a former Foundation grant-holder. Mentors motivate grant-holders through networking, and providing a point of reference in their career path and new educational environment.

In his opening speech, Martin Bouygues stressed how, in the context of the health crisis and the disrupted academic year, the Francis Bouygues Foundation had helped prevent current grant-holders from becoming impoverished: "The lockdown also highlighted, if it were necessary, the efficacy of social ties and consequently the moral support of mentors in the success of our grant-holders".

The Foundation promotes equal opportunity. Thanks to its financial support and to its mentors, more than 1,000 deserving students with ambitious career goals (without them necessarily being related to the Group's activities), have now been supported by the Foundation since it was created by Martin Bouygues in 2005.

To give the Foundation greater publicity and showcase the success of Foundation graduates, the Francis Bouygues Foundation is launching a nation-wide and regional ad campaign from 25 October. Four former grant-holders, with excellent higher education diplomas, have made their dreams come true and embody the Foundation: Claire, digital transformation consultant; Ludovic, chairman of digital communications agencies; Lydia, general practitioner and addictologist; and Mohamed, business analyst.
