LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Boyd Gaming Corp. (BYD) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $138.2 million.

On a per-share basis, the Las Vegas-based company said it had profit of $1.21. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.30 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.21 per share.

The casino operator posted revenue of $843.1 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $837.1 million.

Boyd shares have increased 55% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $66.56, a rise of 95% in the last 12 months.
