HOUSTON, Aug 14 (Reuters) - BP Plc on Wednesday told federal regulators that it has reviewed confidential commissioning documents and does not believe Venture Global LNG needs more time to begin commercial production.
Venture Global applied to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for an extension to commence commercial operations of its Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility in Louisiana to next year, but its customers said they could not justify the extension unless they had access to confidential commercial documents.
BP and other Venture Global customers were allowed access to confidential documents from an administrative judge and the European energy giant said on Wednesday now that it has seen the commissioning documents it is not convinced there is a need to delay a move to commercial operations.
