NEW YORK (AP) _ Brixmor Property Group Inc. (BRX) on Monday reported a key measure of profitability in its fourth quarter. The results matched Wall Street expectations.

The real estate investment trust, based in New York, said it had funds from operations of $137.4 million, or 46 cents per share, in the period.

The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for funds from operations of 46 cents per share.

Funds from operations is a closely watched measure in the REIT industry. It takes net income and adds back items such as depreciation and amortization.

The company said it had net income of $81.2 million, or 27 cents per share.

The owner and operator of shopping centers posted revenue of $295.3 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $287.7 million.

For the year, the company reported funds from operations of $522.3 million, or $1.75 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.15 billion.

Brixmor expects full-year funds from operations in the range of $1.86 to $1.95 per share.

The company's shares have fallen slightly more than 2% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $24.83, an increase of 41% in the last 12 months.
