Chip-maker Broadcom Inc. expects revenue to reach a record of about $6.75 billion this quarter, beating Wall Street projections.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect another strong performance in the quarter that ends Aug. 1, with profit expected to more than double to about $1.35 billion.

On Thursday, the California-based company reported stronger-than-expected financial results for the second quarter, including profit more than doubling from the year earlier and revenue rising 15%.

Broadcom generated about $3.44 billion of free cash flow in the second quarter and ended the quarter with $9.52 billion in cash.
