Brookdale Senior Living : Announces Second Annual Cornerstone Award Recipients

Brookdale Senior Living has announced the 2020 recipients of The Cornerstone Awards. The Cornerstone Awards are tied to Brookdale's cornerstones of Passion, Courage, Partnership and Trust, the foundation from which the company's 64,000 associates deliver their mission of enriching lives.

The second annual recipients of these four awards are associates from around the country:

• Rosita Taylor, Health and Wellness Director at Brookdale West Boynton Beach, received the 'Bill Sheriff Passion Cornerstone Award.' In accepting this honor, Rosita said, 'The support you get here at Brookdale - you're never alone!'

• Andre Wallace, Maintenance Technician at Brookdale Woodland Estates, received the 'Jackie Clegg Courage Cornerstone Award.' Andre had a great way of defining leadership as he accepted his award: 'To be a leader you have to be someone you want to follow!' For his community's COVID-19 clinic, Andrew dressed up as a boxer to support the clinic theme - 'We're gonna knock COVID out!'

• Robyn Moore, Divisional Director, Clinical Services - East Division, received the 'Cornerstone Award for Partnership.' Robyn talked about teamwork in accepting her award: 'I am so empowered by Brookdale's culture - it gives me all the tools I need to do the best work I can. I am so thankful for our nurses, BHS, BAH, SMEs, hospice, etc. We are such a team together, and I am so grateful we have all those people to work with and partner with.'

• Terri Bliesner, a nurse at Brookdale Home Health in Seattle, received the 'Jim Seward Trust Cornerstone Award.' Family was the theme of her remarks in accepting this award: 'My dad taught me that quality and ownership in my job are important. I treat my patients like family, and that makes decisions easier.'

The Cornerstone Awards were presented via Zoom over a congratulatory meeting with Brookdale executives, including President and CEO Cindy Baier.

'Each day, our team of over 64,000 exceptional associates across the country work to enrich the lives of those we serve. I'm honored to recognize some of our truly exemplary associates who go above and beyond for our residents every chance they get,' said Cindy.
