Please review the latest updates noted below in response to the winter storm and the impact to our Texas communities.

Temperatures will fall back below freezing tonight as colder air spreads south in the wake of a cold front. Some light snow or sleet may also fall Thursday morning though accumulation should be very light.

Several Brookdale communities across Texas have experienced power outages. We continue to work with the local utility companies on restoration efforts, in addition to dispatching generators to communities.

Additionally, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which manages the state's electricity grid, began calling for rotating outages overnight on Sunday to avoid widespread blackouts that can occur when demand exceeds supply.

Emergency Preparedness Plan

The safety and well-being of our residents are our highest priorities. We are monitoring the situation at all impacted communities and have detailed emergency preparedness plans in place to try and address all aspects of an emergency situation. Our communities are equipped with water, food, onsite or ready-to-deploy generators, and supplies, including face coverings, hand sanitizer and disinfectants to care for residents.

We are taking appropriate actions to keep them safe throughout the outages and following the guidance and direction of authorities when it comes to potential evacuations.

We will update this website and community Facebook pages with any necessary updates regarding the status of the communities. Subscribe to email news alerts here.

Evacuation Plan

In the event that an evacuation is needed, we have detailed plans in place that include moving residents to a safer area with accompanying care associates, providing temporary accommodations as well as food, beverages and personal belongings.

Brookdale Watauga

Brookdale Watauga experienced a pipe burst in the building. On Monday evening, Feb. 15, the residents were relocated to nearby communities: Brookdale North Richland Hills, Brookdale Richland Hills Memory Care and Brookdale Oak Hollow.

Brookdale White Rock

Brookdale White Rock was relocated to Brookdale Creekside.

We will continue to follow the direction of authorities as the winter weather continues. If you have a specific question about a loved one, we encourage you to contact the community directly.
