Brookfield Asset Management Inc. said Thursday that profit rose in the third quarter as revenue and funds from operations increased.

The Toronto-based alternative asset management company said per-share earnings were 47 cents, compared with 10 cents a share in the comparable quarter a year ago.

Net income attributable to common shareholders was $797 million, compared with $172 million a year ago. Funds from operations per-share rose to 85 cents from 65 cents.

Revenue rose to $19.2 billion from $16.2 billion.
