Brookfield Property REIT : “Trick or Chic” Turns Fashion Show Las Vegas Into Scary-Good T

Brookfield Properties continues to re-think how to deliver the unique shopping experiences our local communities long for during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here's a perhaps 'haunting' example: Fashion Show Las Vegas ' 'Trick or Chic' experience that took place in October.

Like many parts of our business this year, Halloween celebrations had to be different. The pandemic forced U.S. casinos, shopping centers and other businesses to make drastic changes to protect customers and keep their doors open. Beloved Halloween traditions, like dressing up in wild costumes and trick-or-treating, had to be reconsidered and re-made to accommodate social distancing.

Fortunately, our Fashion Show Las Vegas leaders put their creative spirits to work and hatched a frightfully good idea. Located on the Las Vegas Strip across from the Venetian and Wynn resorts, the property covers 2 million square feet and features anchor stores Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, plus more than 250 other retailers and 30-plus dining locations. 'Trick or Chic' was the result. Event organizers converted vacant tenant space into an all-ages, enchanted, multisensory haunted house.

Ghoulish (and appropriately masked and socially-distanced) guides walked a total of 1,760 guests, many of whom dressed up in costumes to conjure the Halloween spirit, safely through the experience. At the end of the tour, guests received 'bounce-back' packages and deal opportunities at Fashion Show restaurants, spas and shops. Trick or Chic took place over a few weekends in October, so families could plan ahead. The event was sold out in eight of the nine days that the event was held.

Trick or Chic will be an annual affair, and we look forward to celebrating another Vegas-style Halloween in 2021.
