BUA Cement Plc announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was NGN 63,085.112 million compared to NGN 47,292.376 million a year ago. Operating income was NGN 24,874.680 million compared to NGN 19,664.557 million a year ago. Net income was NGN 21,029.371 million compared to NGN 14,869.584 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was NGN 0.66 compared to NGN 0.44 a year ago. For the half year, sales was NGN 124,278.000 million compared to NGN 101,261.000 million a year ago. Operating income was NGN 50,524.175 million compared to NGN 40,808.733 million a year ago. Net income was NGN 43,395.989 million compared to NGN 34,819.273 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was NGN 1.28 compared to NGN 1.03 a year ago.

BUA Cement (Sokoto) is primarily engaged in the business of quarrying, extracting, processing and dealing in limestone, as well as the manufacture and supply of cement. The cement plant is located in Sokoto state, Nigeria. Its depots are located in Lagos, Abuja, Ilorin, Ibadan and Sagamu. It operates the cement industry in Northwest, Southeast and South Nigeria with a production capacity of 11 million metric tons per annum and plants in Sokoto and Edo State, Nigeria.
