Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended January 29, 2022. For the fourth quarter, the company reported revenue was USD 129.96 million compared to USD 93.66 million a year ago. Net income was USD 24.13 million compared to USD 10.47 million a year ago. Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. is a multi-channel retailer of plush animals and related products. The Company operates through three segments: direct-to-consumer (DTC), commercial, and international franchising. The DTC segment includes the operating activities of corporately managed locations and other retail delivery operations in the United States, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom, including the Companyâs e-commerce sites and temporary stores. The commercial segment includes the Companyâs transactions with other businesses, mainly comprised of licensing the Companyâs intellectual properties for third party use and wholesale activities. The international franchising segment includes the licensing activities of its franchise agreements with store locations in select countries in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America. The Company operates approximately 350 corporately managed locations and has 68 franchised stores operating internationally.
