Burkhalter Group buys electrical engineering company in Eastern Switzerland

On 5 November 2018, the Burkhalter Group acquired Elektro Niklaus AG in Bischofszell, Thurgau. The company employs 30 people and generates annual sales of around CHF 4 million.

The Burkhalter Group is strengthening its presence in the canton of Thurgau by purchasing Elektro Niklaus AG in Bischofszell. The company has been successfully operating in the local market since 1981 and primarily offers traditional electrical engineering services. The current owner, Reto Gadola, will continue in his managerial role.

More acquisitions in the pipeline

Since the IPO in June 2008, the Burkhalter Group has continuously expanded its network in Switzerland. The purchase of Elektro Niklaus AG is the 21st acquisition by the full-service provider of electrical engineering services to the construction sector. "It remains part of our strategy to gain additional market share by selectively acquiring other electrical engineering companies," says CEO Marco Syfrig.
