Bucharest Stock Exchange(BVB) together with Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Relations with the Business Environment have collaborated to create Foreign Investors' Guide, available on the official Internet page www.investromania.gov.ro. This Guide will help promote Romania as an investment destination and includes extensive information about the business environment in Romania, investment and financing of the companies, including the listing on the Main Market and AeRO market.
'Romanian capital market continues its flight to quality, creating and developing all the strengths that are indispensable in today's competitive world of investments. With all the profound modernization of the market led by the Bucharest Stock Exchange, we are now well positioned to start playing an important role in the entire national and even regional economy', said Ludwik Sobolewski, CEO of Bucharest Stock Exchange.
'Romania will continue to develop the capital market for it to become an alternative to the financing through the banking system, so that it will support the economic growth and companies' development. Both the number of listed companies and the level of the market capitalization have increased in the last years and, overall, the returns performed well, having also companies whose shares registered a double digit growth. In addition to this, in the near future, we expect more listings of state owned companies which will bring investors' interest similarly to the ones of the last years', stated Costin Borc, Vice Prime Minister of Romania.
Foreign investors have, in addition, another detailed guide entitled InvestingRomania `, with prospects and investment on the local capital market, designed specifically by Bucharest Stock Exchange. It contains information about listed companies, stock investments, tax issues, news in market reforms and infrastructure. In the near future, Bucharest Stock Exchange will launch a portal for listed companies, current and potential investors, at www.investingromania.com.
At the end of the second quarter of fiscal year 2016, Romania is in a favorable position within Europe and globally, both at macroeconomic and capital market level. Growth of GDP with 5.9% places the local economy first in the European Union and gross dividend yield of about 9% for the largest companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange ranks Romania first in the world. All these elements contribute to Romania's attractiveness for investors.
Bucharest Stock Exchange runs markets for shares, bonds and other instruments, through regulated platforms and alternative systems, and provides a wide range of services to participants of financial markets.
