EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) _ C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. (CHRW) on Wednesday reported first-quarter profit of $270.3 million.

The Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based company said it had net income of $2.05 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.54 per share.

The trucking company posted revenue of $6.82 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.96 billion.
