C.P. Lotus Corporation reported audited consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2017. For the period, the company reported revenue of RMB 9,655,191,000 against RMB 10,085,679,000 a year ago, the reduction was due to revenue contributed by seven new hypermarkets and one neighbourhood store opened in 2017 being insufficient to offset the 8.0% reduction in same store sales, which was a result of the continued easing of the economy and the intensified competition from online retailers. Profit from operations was RMB 326,806,000 against loss from operations of RMB 431,928,000 a year ago. Profit before taxation was RMB 225,252,000 against loss before taxation of RMB 514,711,000 a year ago. Profit for the year was RMB 179,040,000 against loss for the period of RMB 537,600,000 a year ago. Profit attributable to equity shareholders of the company was RMB 179,040,000 or 0.80 RMB cents per basic and diluted share against loss attributable to equity holders of the company of RMB 537,587,000 or 2.41 RMB cents per basic and diluted share a year ago.
