Team Callaway is off to a fast start this week on Tour. Here are our biggest stories today:

Sam Burns Puts In Epic Speed, Shoots 64

This week, Callaway staffer Sam Burns is using an Epic Speed Driver for the first time in Phoenix (he had previously been in MAVRIK). His Epic Speed is a 9* and in his first round with it on Thursday he shot 64 to move near the top of the leaderboard - he also averaged 324.6 yards per drive for the day. Burns is using a 2020 Chrome Soft X Golf Ball as well.

Schauffele Goes Deep With Epic

Xander Schauffele has finished in the top-5 in both starts since he put in the Epic Speed Driver, and today he posted a 5-under 66 while averaging 325.2 yards per drive, including a 357 yard bomb. He was 5th in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee for the day. Schauffele has said that the ball speed consistency from swing to swing is what he's noticed the most about his driver. Schauffele also is playing a 2020 Chrome Soft X Ball.

Horsey Flirts With 59

On the European Tour, Callaway staffer David Horsey made a run at breaking 60 and ultimately 'settled' for a 61. He's in the lead after the first round.

Rahm Is Getting Set With His Equipment

Last week Jon Rahm moved into a new Odyssey 2-Ball Prototype Putter, putting him in all Callaway/Odyssey equipment in just his second event as a staffer. He's posted a top-10 in both starts to 2021, and earlier this week he said, '(I'm) really happy with where I'm at' right now. His bag includes an Epic Speed Driver, Apex Prototype Irons and a 2020 Chrome Soft X Ball.
