CALGARY ALBERTA CANADA, Alberta (AP) _ Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (CNQ) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $2.16 billion.

The Calgary Alberta Canada, Alberta-based company said it had profit of $1.91 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $2.37 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.09 per share.

The oil and natural gas company posted revenue of $9.64 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $8.02 billion, which also topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.98 billion.
