Capgemini SE said Thursday that it will open semiconductor design service centers across Europe to support Intel Corp.'s strengthened chip-manufacturing program.

Initial centers in France and Portugal housing chip design and software teams are planned for Intel Foundry Services customers, the French consulting and technology company said.

The initiative is designed to bolster Europe's production capacity of next-generation semiconductors and to increase the resilience of the continent's supply chains, in line with the European Chips Act, Capgemini said.
