Capital has appointed Catherine Boggs as an independent non-executive director, effective September 6, 2021. Cassie will join the Company's Nomination Committee, Remuneration Committee, Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Committee and is appointed Chair of the newly formed Sustainability Committee. Cassie brings extensive knowledge of international mining law and investment and is a highly qualified lawyer with over 35 years' experience. Since 2017, Cassie has held the position of Independent Director for Hecla Mining Company. She is a member of their Audit and Compensation Committee and has been Chair of their Governance and Social Responsibility Committee since 2019. Most recently she spent eight years with renowned global mining investment firm, Resource Capital Funds, in the role of Partner, Vice President and General Counsel. Previously, Cassie held the role of Senior Vice President, Corporate Development for Barrick Gold Corporation. During this time, amongst other roles, she served as General Counsel to their LSE-listed subsidiary, African Barrick Gold and as Regional President of their African Business Unit. She was an International Partner for global law firm Baker McKenzie, holding the role of the Head of Global Mining Group with the company. Ms Boggs is considered to meet the requirements to be classified as an independent director under the UK Corporate Governance Code.
